Its defining features include a substantial 46mm stainless-steel case, unique crown placement at 4 o’clock, a robust black synthetic rubber strap, and a clean white dial with an angled reflector ring and prominent hour markers. Adding to its functionality is their INDIGLO® backlight for night visibility, activated by a dedicated bright green pusher on the case side beside 9 o’clock, and a slide rule bezel featuring logarithmic scales that allow you to tackle calculations such as multiplication, division, percentages, and other unit conversions. Timex was originally founded in 1854 in Waterbury, CT as the Waterbury Clock Company — the business was relaunched in 1950 under new ownership (the name is a portmanteau of Time magazine and Kleenex).
